Duke, West Virginia, Butler and Michigan State are the Final Four teams for 2010. For the NCAA bracket fanatics out there, that’s a one seed, an upstart two seed and two five seeds. Even the autistic kid’s bracket is busted by now since this is the first time since 2000 that a team lower than fourth seed has progressed this far. According to the San Jose-Mercury News, the NCAA uses March Madness to bring in 90 percent of its yearly revenue, which almost gave the NCAA a massive heart attack. The bigwigs can rest easy; Duke brings the brand recognition to which casual basketball fans flock. That means moving merchandise and lots of television ratings – in a TV contract negotiation year, not less. No Duke means no big bargaining chip and a need for cash lenders.

The Final Four teams – things to look at out for
1. Butler has the opportunity to play only 15 minutes away from their home campus. The “Gonzaga” of the Horizon conference shouldn’t be much of a surprise to anyone for their destination among the Final Four teams, particularly since they’re riding a 24-game winning streak.
2. In last year’s championship, Michigan State lost to North Carolina, and Tom Izzo is an ace coach. No surprises here, either.
3. Since 1959, this is the first Final Four appearance being made by West Virginia. That’s back when their most famous basketball alum, “Mr. Clutch” Jerry West, was still lacing them up. The maverick among the Final Four teams for 2010 is the real bracket buster. Whether or not they win pretty, they still win. Luckily, Da’Sean Butler is an amazing scorer.
4. Duke has great ability, plays smart basketball, and is well coached. Coach Krzyzewski learned this from Bobby Knight, who is definitely a drill sergeant in coach’s clothing. His players would definitely qualify for military payday loans. That’s what makes them the favorite here, although they could be exploited somewhat by more athletic teams. Will the other Final Four teams be able to wear Duke down?
